What if you could use your user research superpowers to empower women? To reduce shame and aloneness. To increase confidence and joy?

Sounds pretty lofty, right?

Turns out, the platform we've created is actually having that impact according to users as well as published research studies.

EMBRACING WHAT YOU WANT IS EMPOWERING

Our flagship product, OMGYES.com, distills research and wisdom from tens of thousands of women to help people get clear on what they want and feel empowered, starting in the bedroom and then they show up in the world.

When we feel that some of what we want is dirty or broken or shameful, it's like we're constantly holding a beach-ball under the surface of a pool. It puts us off-balance. But when we realize what we want is normal, and good, and worth pursuing, we're more likely to trust and advocate for what we want. In our social lives, in work or school, in our family lives. And this shift has numerous other wellness effects our scientists are currently studying.

It's why the Australian government is purchasing OMGYES as part of a pilot wellness program. It's why OMGYES has grown to have over 750K paid users in 12 languages and $9M/year revenue without ever having a marketing or product team. It's why Psychology Today called OMGYES, "warm, wise, tasteful and fun," The Times of London called it, "nothing less than the next wave of an unfinished sexual revolution" and Emma Watson told Gloria Steinem on stage, "I wish it had been around longer."

YOUR CHALLENGE

Unlike most companies where user research presents things back to stakeholders, in our company INSIGHTS ARE THE PRODUCT. The end product users see will sprout from what your team of 3 user researchers distills from the discoveries of thousands of people. You'll develop hypotheses about how people flourish, and how we can inspire them to flourish, and will iteratively test those hypotheses.

Bring your:

  • Growth mindset
  • Deep qualitative UX research and testing experience
  • Strong organization and project management sensibilities

Use your expertise to:

  • Design and conduct synchronous and asynchronous user research
  • Turn your findings into actionable insights that help our content, product and marketing teams have more impact

YOUR SUPPORT

You'll also be supported in growing to your greatest potential yet with:

  • The stability, extremely competitive compensation and full benefits of a stable, private company. (profitable and never again seeking funding.)
  • A tight-knit team of other researchers to work alongside
  • Camaraderie and opportunity for impact of a small company
  • A truly cause-aligned business model that’s profitable and growing

Imagine one day far from now, looking at the wikipedia entry for the 'sexual revolution' and seeing the work you did. Imagine what it would feel like if your team brought on a cultural awakening that stopped the multigenerational cycle of sexual shame, once and for all...

This is an incredibly difficult puzzle with an enormous payoff. A challenge worthy of your skills.

WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF

  • You are a builder. You’d love to carve out a new research discipline within a small company without bureaucracy.
  • You work smarter, not harder or longer. You know from experience that you and your team are most productive when they are rested, trusted and valued.
  • You want your work to help people. You’re energized by messages from users around the world telling you how your product made them realize they’re not alone, gave them new confidence, or saved their marriage.
  • You value research so much that you want to be a part of a company that’s rooted in it. You love the art and science of making hypotheses to test, and you even like when your hypotheses are proven wrong, because answers are progress.
  • You love to apply creativity to business problems, cutting to the core of them, identifying what needs to be done, and making it happen

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's degree in psychology, behavioral sciences, human factors, HCI, marketing, or related field; or BA/BS with a strong portfolio and product experience
  • 5+ years of qualitative user research experience across the entire product cycle, with experience using quantitative methods and basic stats a plus
  • Experience using a variety of UX and market research methodologies, including surveys, interviews, usability studies, field studies, diary studies and remote studies
  • Strong understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of different research methods, including when and how to apply them effectively in the product cycle
  • Experience collecting and distilling user feedback to hone web or app experiences, with research to inform the design of written content and/or visual media a plus
  • Able to comfortably discuss taboo topics as well as design, conduct and analyze user research about such topics
  • Experience conducting, analyzing and socializing multiple research projects at a time, often with minimal supervision and tight turnarounds
  • Comfortable doing your own research ops, including recruiting participants, hiring vendors, procuring new research tools, and creating processes when needed
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
  • Able to influence and collaborate with peers and work effectively cross-functionally

This position offers very competitive salary, a healthy work / life balance, and a great benefits package, including platinum-level health insurance, dental, vision, life and gym.
